Mr. Tylawsky was born into a seafaring and shipbuilding family and is the third generation in his family to make a career in the maritime industry. He is proud of his family's 100+ year tradition including distinguished maritime service to the United States during two world wars and recent conflicts.
He is a graduate of the State University of New York Maritime College at Fort Schuyler with a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Marine Engineering and is a Licensed Professional Engineer . Mr. Tylawsky has had an extensive maritime education, including numerous courses dealing with maritime safety issues, followed by over 25 years of practical experience and assignments.
His experience has covered the world including service as a ship's engineering officer; service with the United States Navy Military Sealift Command; chief engineer and safety director of a U.S. flag marine transportation and shipbuilding company and technical consultant to marine insurance underwriters, vessel owners, and some of the most respected Proctors in Admiralty.
Mr. Tylawsky is a practicing marine engineer providing engineering and safety consulting to senior management in the maritime industry.
